FAQ

Q.Please tell me about scholarships.
Receiving scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is much more advantageous than for undergraduate students. There are also a number of scholarships offered by the university.
Q.What is a TA?
It is an abbreviation for teaching assistant. TAs are paid for their work based on a grant from the government and funds from the university. TA activities are compensated based on government grants and university funds, and also serve as a background that can be included in your resume.
Q. Is it possible to get past entrance examination?
Yes, the past two years are available at the Admission Center.
Q. I heard that there is a special selection system for exemption from the written exam.
For the fall admission held in August, we have a special selection system that exempts applicants who are expected to graduate from a university (or who will have graduated from a university within 3 years at the time of application) and who have particularly excellent grades from the written exam. For details, please ask the faculty of each department. Please note that this system is not available for the Spring Entrance Examination held in March.
Q.What will I be asked in the interview (oral test)?
We mainly ask about your motivation and purpose for entering the university.
Q. Where can I get the application form?
You can obtain them at the Admission Center. They are usually distributed in mid-June.
Q. I am an off-campus applicant. Who can I contact for advice about the entrance examination?
The Admission Center and the administration committee members of each department will respond to your inquiries. It is also a good idea to visit the faculty of the laboratory you wish to enter.
